Pizza Express
Background:
Task was to come up with a concept; an idea for an application
suited for a certain user group and situation of use. This application had to
have a graphic user interface of some kind and one of the following demands:
- Usage of text was not allowed.
- Usage of mouse and keyboard as input devices was not allowed either
Solution:
The chosen device was a touch screen in a “digitalised” fast food restaurant where user can quickly make an order in just 5 steps. Since no text was allowed the goal was to design virtually foolproof icons that could lead the user through the UI. The restaurant in question was meant to have one of these screens at each table. Screens could also be rotated to allow easy access.
- Screen nr 1: Begin screen
- Screen nr 2: Select type of pasta
- Screen nr 3: Select type of meat or vegeterian
- Screen nr 4: Select side orders (drinks, extra cheese etc)
- Screen nr 5: Review the order
